Stockholm-based startup IPercept has secured $16.5 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was co-led by Isogon Ventures and 2150, with continued support from existing backers including Luminar Ventures, RunwayFBU, J12 Venture, and AI.Fund.
The company specializes in predictive maintenance for CNC machines using AI-driven insights. Its technology utilizes a single device mounted on moving parts to convert micrometre-scale motion into data. This process operates independently of machine controllers or customer IT networks.
The startup plans to utilize the new capital to expand its operations into the US market, including initial local hiring. Additionally, the funds will support further technical development of the platform, which currently serves clients such as Airbus, Bosch, and Volvo.
IPercept originated as a spin-out from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2022. The development of its measurement principle involved five years of research and four years of data collection to enable real-time monitoring of machine wear and degradation.
