IonQ shares rose by approximately 12% on September 8, 2026, following the company's first joint Investor Day and an updated financial outlook. The stock gained over 6% during premarket trading before reaching its final intraday increase.
The company increased its 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $450 million to $460 million. This forecast includes contributions from SkyWater Technology, a semiconductor foundry acquired by IonQ on July 31, 2026.
Previously, IonQ projected standalone 2026 revenue between $280 million and $290 million. The inclusion of SkyWater accounts for roughly five months of consolidated revenue in the revised figures.
At the end of Q2 2026, IonQ reported remaining performance obligations of $485 million. In the same quarter, the company recorded revenue of $80.1 million, marking a 287% increase year-over-year.
During the event, management introduced Superion, a sixth-generation quantum computing platform. The chips for this system are produced at the SkyWater facility, allowing IonQ to manage its own manufacturing supply chain.
