Intermezzo, a startup founded by former Intuit executives Siddharth Ram and Kumar Ramanathan, has secured $10 million in funding. The company develops an automation platform designed to streamline payroll processes for human capital management systems.
The platform utilizes proprietary architecture and AI agents to convert raw data into structured, machine-readable rules. This software-driven approach aims to replace manual aggregation models, which the company identifies as a primary source of errors and delays in the payroll industry.
According to Intermezzo, its technology reduces the standard 20-day payroll processing cycle to 24 hours. The system reportedly achieves an accuracy rate exceeding 99% while lowering operational costs for its clients.
Intermezzo functions as a white-label API provider, allowing HCM and payroll firms to integrate global payroll capabilities without needing to build country-specific infrastructure. This enables companies to bypass the complexities of managing multiple regional vendors.
