Intel and Oracle have entered a multiyear collaboration to integrate Intel Xeon server processors into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The agreement covers both existing Xeon platforms and future hardware, including the upcoming Diamond Rapids server processors, which are slated to power Oracle's OCI X14 offerings.

The partnership focuses on supporting enterprise applications, agentic AI, and inference workloads. Intel intends to utilize its AMX features to enhance inference performance. This deal aligns with Intel's strategic shift toward cloud data centers, as the company seeks to reduce its reliance on the consumer PC market.

Financial results for the third quarter of 2026 highlight the divergence between Intel's business segments. The Data Center and AI division reported revenue of $7.3 billion, marking a 78% year-over-year increase. In contrast, the client segment, which includes PCs, saw revenue decline by 5% to $8.1 billion.

Despite the partnership announcement, Intel's stock experienced significant volatility. Following the release of a cautious fourth-quarter outlook on October 29, 2026, shares fell by approximately 13–22% in after-hours trading. The company attributed this outlook to ongoing supply chain constraints and weakness in the PC market.
