Instinct, an AI startup currently valued at $10 billion, has introduced a group chat feature for its AI agent. This functionality allows users to integrate the agent into conversations with friends to assist with tasks such as travel planning, event coordination, and organizing group activities.

A key feature of this update is that the AI agent can participate in group chats even if the other participants do not have an Instinct account. The company is positioning this tool to compete directly with other AI agents in the market, including Meta's Muse, which currently lacks similar group chat capabilities.

Founder Noah Shinn stated that the group agent operates in a siloed environment, separate from a user's personal account. The personal agent requires explicit user permission before connecting to a group, sharing information, or performing actions, ensuring privacy and security for participants.

The feature is currently available to early access users. The company plans to roll out the functionality to its entire user base in the near future. Users interested in testing the feature can request access directly through their personal Instinct agent.
