Injective, a layer-1 blockchain, reported $214.9 million in trading volume for its real-world asset (RWA) perpetual markets over the last 30 days. This represents a 3.4x increase since May 2026, when volume stood at $61.4 million. Monthly figures rose to $186.5 million in July and approximately $209.7 million in August.
The platform currently hosts 135 active RWA perpetual markets, including 111 equity markets, 11 foreign exchange pairs, and 9 commodity markets. These contracts allow traders to gain exposure to assets like Nvidia, Tesla, and Alphabet using USDC for settlement, bypassing traditional brokerage requirements and market hours.
Since early 2025, the cumulative RWA perpetual volume on Injective has exceeded $5.3 billion. Total onchain activity across the protocol reached over $6.3 billion by mid-2026. The native INJ token recorded a 40% gain year-to-date as of September 2026, driven by increased network fee generation.
Injective utilizes a central limit order book model combined with frequent batch auctions to facilitate trading. This infrastructure allows for synthetic exposure to traditional assets, reflecting a shift in the DeFi ecosystem toward active, leveraged trading beyond simple tokenized government debt.
