Infineon and Qualcomm have announced a partnership aimed at accelerating the development and deployment of central automotive computers for software-defined vehicles. The collaboration focuses on integrating Infineon's microcontroller subsystems into Qualcomm's Snapdragon Ride and Ride Flex reference platforms.
The integration combines Qualcomm's high-performance system-on-chip capabilities with Infineon's expertise in safety management, connectivity, and memory management. Infineon's subsystems provide essential functions, including system health monitoring, safety mechanism coordination, and real-time control for critical safety operations.
Beyond hardware components such as AURIX microcontrollers and OPTIREG power management integrated circuits, Infineon is supplying a software package. This includes firmware and safety monitoring software specifically tailored to meet the requirements of the Qualcomm platforms.
