Indodax, the largest digital asset exchange in Indonesia, suspended all deposits and withdrawals of both rupiah and cryptocurrencies on October 29, 2026. The platform initiated this freeze at 12:24 WIB following a surge in cyberattack attempts. CEO William Sutanto stated that the measure is purely precautionary to secure the platform.

Despite the suspension of transfers, the exchange confirmed that spot trading remains partially operational and users can still view their account balances. Indodax reported that all client assets are secure, with no evidence of unauthorized withdrawals or data breaches detected during the ongoing security review.

The exchange has not provided a specific timeline for the resumption of full services. This incident follows a previous security breach in September 2024, when a hot-wallet compromise resulted in losses of approximately $22 million. The company is currently operating under new regulatory frameworks established by the OJK and Bappebti.

In the period leading up to the current suspension, the company has been adjusting its operations to meet local financial requirements. On October 20, 2026, Indodax joined the Asosiasi Fintech Syariah Indonesia. The platform continues to monitor the situation and has pledged to provide updates through its official communication channels.
