During the Soviet era, various personal computers from COMECON countries were imported to the USSR. Bulgaria produced the Pravetz series, including the Pravetz 8D, which was based on the Oric Atmos architecture and used the CM630 processor. These machines were supplied to Soviet educational institutions.

The USSR also imported Yamaha computers as part of the KUVT educational sets. These machines were based on the MSX standard and utilized the Zilog Z80 processor. The government spent 1 million rubles to equip approximately 700 computer classrooms with these systems, which supported networking and peripherals like the Neos MS-10 mouse.

The East German manufacturer Robotron supplied the Robotron 1715 and 1715W models to the Soviet Union. Designed for professional and industrial use, these computers featured the U880 processor and were primarily used for office tasks and software development, running on the SCP 3.0 operating system based on CP/M 3.
