The GOST R 71207-2024 standard, effective since April 1, 2024, establishes requirements for static code analysis in secure software development. It mandates specific procedures for tool selection, environment preparation, and regular analysis execution to ensure software security.
The implementation process consists of three stages: preparatory, initial, and regular analysis. Organizations must define their technical profile, including compilers and build systems, and select tools capable of identifying critical vulnerabilities such as buffer overflows and memory leaks.
The standard requires full analysis of the entire codebase at least once every 10 working days if changes occur. Analysis of modified code parts must be performed after every change, with results reviewed within three working days and critical errors addressed before qualification testing.
Centralized storage of analysis results is mandatory to track progress and compare data over time. The standard also requires monthly oversight of error remediation by personnel independent of the initial analysis and development teams.
Regular configuration reviews are necessary when software architecture changes, new components are added, or analysis tools are updated. Tools like PVS-Studio and the PVS-Studio Atlas platform are cited as solutions for managing these workflows and meeting compliance requirements.
