Ideco has released Ideco NGFW Novum v23, an updated version of its next-generation firewall. The release focuses on improving operational predictability, optimizing network processes, and introducing granular control over artificial intelligence services.

The system now identifies traffic from specific AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, GigaChat, and YandexGPT, by recognizing 83 new protocols. This allows organizations to monitor AI usage, prevent data leaks, and regulate employee access to these tools.

Ideco Client now features token-based authentication, replacing traditional passwords with digital certificates on hardware tokens or smart cards. The update also includes session lifecycle monitoring and optional AD DNS tunnel IP address publication to enhance security.

New traffic management features include QoS with DSCP support and bandwidth limiting to block tunneling attempts within SSL and SSH connections. Additionally, the system now supports domain objects with wildcards, simplifying the creation of filtering rules.

The update introduces internal switching for virtual contexts (VCE) and enhanced network capabilities, including BFD protocol support for BGP and OSPF. Monitoring tools have been expanded with new SNMP metrics and trap notifications for cluster management.

Ideco Center now supports centralized log collection with selective filtering for Syslog/CEF events, reducing SIEM load. According to CEO Dmitry Khomutov, the version emphasizes management transparency, operational predictability, and integration with Russian cryptography.
