Hyundai Mobis has launched mass production of Power Electric (PE) systems at its new facility in Nováky, Slovakia. This site marks the company’s first European plant dedicated to integrated electric powertrain units, which combine an electric motor, an inverter, and a reduction gear into a single assembly.
The facility is located in the Trenčín Region and covers 8,500 square meters of floor area on a 106,000-square-meter site. The plant has an annual production capacity of up to 280,000 PE systems. Hyundai Mobis invested approximately ₩250 billion in the project.
The Nováky plant is the company's third electrification site in Europe, following battery system assembly plants in the Czech Republic and Spain. Globally, the company operates similar facilities in Korea, the US, and Indonesia, producing a full range of EV components in-house.
The new plant will supply electrification components to Hyundai Motor, Kia, and other global customers. Hyundai Mobis aims to increase the share of revenue generated from global clients to 40% by 2033. CEO Lee Gyu Suk stated that the company expects its PE systems to support strategic models from global automakers.
