The Hubei provincial government has updated its trade-in subsidy policy for consumer goods, effective from October 1, 2026. The initiative aims to stimulate the consumption of smart terminal products and integrate artificial intelligence into daily life.

The expanded list of subsidized items now includes smart cleaning devices, such as floor scrubbers and window-cleaning robots. It also covers various service robots, including embodied robots, cooking robots, exoskeleton devices, and companion robots or robotic dogs.

The program extends to smart kitchen appliances, including dishwashers, disinfection cabinets, ovens, rice cookers, microwaves, air fryers, food processors, coffee machines, blenders, water purifiers, and water dispensers.

Individual consumers purchasing these products from participating merchants are eligible for a 15% subsidy based on the final sale price after other discounts. Each consumer can claim the subsidy for one unit per product category.

The policy sets a maximum subsidy limit of ¥1500 per item. The scope of the national subsidy program has also been broadened to include digital products, smart devices, and home appliances.
