Huawei has officially unveiled the Kirin 9050 Pro mobile processor, which debuted alongside the Mate XT 2 foldable smartphone. The chip introduces the LogicFolding architecture and the new Linxi processing unit, designed to dynamically adjust core performance based on specific workloads.

According to the company, the chip delivers a 42% increase in overall performance compared to its predecessor. Specifically, single-threaded performance has improved by 24%, while multi-threaded performance has seen a 52% boost, balancing speed with energy efficiency.

The graphics subsystem features the next-generation Maleoon architecture, which includes hardware-accelerated ray tracing, additional compute units, and a doubled cache size. These upgrades result in a 142% increase in rendering performance for gaming and graphics-intensive tasks.

For artificial intelligence, the platform utilizes the Da Vinci NPU architecture with 30 billion parameters, enabling the local execution of multimodal MoE models. The chip also integrates a new Balong modem that supports combined satellite and terrestrial communication.

The hardware platform is further supported by a multi-channel heat dissipation system and enhanced mobile security mechanisms to ensure stable operation under high loads.
