During a recruitment event at Peking University, he emphasized that Huawei prioritizes long-term value over immediate annual results, allowing teams several years to explore new technologies.
As an example of this commitment, He Gang announced that Huawei is preparing to release a dedicated blood glucose monitoring device. The company dedicated four years to researching the underlying technology before reaching a stage suitable for commercial production and industrial application.
This development follows previous health-related initiatives from the company. In May 2023, Huawei introduced high blood glucose risk assessment capabilities for its Watch 4 series. Users participating in this research project receive risk level notifications after wearing the device for a specific period.
