At the Huawei Double 11 event, He Gang, CEO of Huawei Terminal BG, announced that the entire Mate 90 series will support a four-SIM, three-standby communication feature. While the Pro Max model debuts this capability, the standard and Pro versions will receive the functionality through a future OTA update.
The technology allows users to manage up to four numbers, utilizing a combination of physical SIM cards and eSIMs. Users can maintain three active standby connections simultaneously, enabling voice calls, data usage, and SMS across all three active lines. The interface displays signal status for all three cards in the status bar.
Huawei has been expanding its eSIM integration since December 2025, starting with the Mate 80 RS. Subsequent models, including the Mate XT 2 and Pura X View released in September 2026, also featured eSIM support. The new Mate 90 series represents the latest step in this connectivity strategy.
