Reports emerged on September 15 suggesting a shift in the partnership model between Huawei and Seres. Sources indicated that the collaboration would transition to an asset-light structure, moving from Huawei-led operations to a model where Seres takes the lead while Huawei provides support in product development, marketing, and sales.
Following these reports, rumors circulated online regarding the future of the AITO brand and the division of responsibilities among Huawei executives. Claims included the establishment of an independent sub-brand and specific roles for He Gang, Yu Chengdong, and Wang Yanmin in managing various vehicle series under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance.
Peng Lei, Product Director for Huawei's smart car selection business, addressed the rumors directly. In response to inquiries from users, he dismissed the circulating reports as false, stating that misinformation is currently widespread.
