Sisters Balia and Sumrin Mudgil launched Hot Girl Hotline, an AI-powered startup providing relationship and dating advice for young women. The platform aims to offer a safer alternative to general-purpose chatbots by focusing on behavioral science and Socratic questioning techniques.
The service includes safety protocols, such as referring users to crisis resources like the 988 hotline if necessary. The AI is designed to avoid emotional dependency and encourages users to take real-world actions rather than ruminating on issues.
The startup operates on a subscription model costing $9.99 per month, with hundreds of active users currently paying for the service. Future plans include expanding into lifestyle and beauty advice, as well as potentially incorporating advertisements.
Based in New York, the company is currently bootstrapped and uses a mix of AI models with a zero-data-retention policy. User data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, and the company does not sell or train its models on personal information.
The application is available on iOS and the web. The startup is set to participate in the Startup Battlefield 200 at the upcoming TechCrunch Disrupt event.
