Honor's chief imaging engineer, Luo Wei, announced the development of a new Arri photography mode for the company's devices. This feature utilizes the LogC curve design principle and collaboration with Arri's Film Lab to reconstruct full-spectrum RAW signals, simulating 35mm film sensitivity and darkroom processing.
The company is currently working on the second generation of the Honor Robot Phone, which aims to address issues present in the first model. Additionally, Honor is developing two new products with innovative form factors in partnership with Arri, which the company claims will be unlike anything currently on the market.
The strategic partnership between Honor and Arri was initially announced on March 1, 2026, at MWC 2026. The first product of this collaboration, the Robot Phone, was released on August 12, 2026, starting at ¥9,999. It features a 4DoF titanium mechanical gimbal system and the proprietary Honor Yuguang H1 imaging chip.
The collaboration extends to the Honor Magic 9 series, which was announced on September 8, 2026. These devices support Arri LogC3 logarithmic gamma curves and AWG3 wide color gamut. This integration allows users to capture high-light information and cinematic color quality directly on the device without requiring professional post-processing.
