Haulmont has released OpenBPM Engine v.2.0, a BPM platform based on Camunda 7 CE. The update migrates the engine to Spring Boot 4, which includes Spring Framework 7, Jakarta EE 11, Hibernate ORM 7.1, Spring Security 7, Spring Data 2025.1, Jackson 3, and JUnit 6.

The new version supports Java 17, 21, and 25, with performance gains of 10% when using JDK 25. It is compatible with PostgreSQL 14+, MariaDB 10.11, MySQL 8.4, and Apache Tomcat 11. The Nashorn JavaScript engine has been removed in favor of GraalVM.

The release introduces a new Health SPI for monitoring and improved Kafka connectors that allow parameter management directly within BPMN process tasks. The build process, including source code and artifacts, is hosted entirely within the Russian Federation.

Performance testing on a RedOS 8 environment with 4 vCPU and 16 GB RAM showed throughput of 450-490 activities per second. The company also introduced an AI agent for process analysis and navigation, requiring at least a Qwen2.5:14B model for local inference.

A new AI-based modeling tool, Workspace, has moved from R&D to early access. The platform aims to enable business technologists to automate processes by interacting with AI agents that analyze process schemes, generate specifications, and create proof-of-concept implementations.
