Grokipedia, an encyclopedia project launched by xAI on October 27, 2025, now operates under full automation. The platform utilizes the Grok large language model to generate, fact-check, and update content in real time without human editors.
The project was acquired by SpaceX in February 2026. Following a period of stalled updates that began in the spring, the platform released version 0.3 on September 30, 2026, which introduced visual updates and resumed active content management.
As of early October 2026, the database contains over 6 million articles and has processed more than 1.1 million approved user suggestions. Users cannot edit pages directly but may submit proposals for the AI to review autonomously.
Initially, the platform relied on content adapted from Wikipedia under Creative Commons licenses. The development team has since shifted focus toward original synthesis and improved fact-checking procedures to differentiate the content.
