Google has officially released the stable Android 17 QPR1 update for its Pixel device lineup. The rollout includes the latest system security patches and feature enhancements as of September 2026. Users can access the update through the system settings menu or by checking for OTA notifications.
The update introduces significant UI changes, including dynamic blur effects in the power menu and volume panel. The media player now utilizes a Material 3 carousel interface, while quick settings feature new elastic animations. Additionally, the settings app now incorporates M3 Expressive icons, previously seen on the Pixel Watch.
Functional improvements include a new keyboard shortcut tile and an updated screen recording tool that defaults to the last used application. The Health Connect feature has been expanded to track distance and calorie consumption in addition to step counts. Long-pressing home screen icons now separates app shortcuts from system operations.
The Android 17 QPR1 update is compatible with a wide range of devices, starting from the Pixel 6 series up to the newly released Pixel 11 lineup. Supported models include the Pixel 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 series, along with the Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, and their respective Pro, XL, and 'a' variants.
Users currently enrolled in the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 9 program will receive a minor update to transition to the stable version. Those on earlier beta versions must exit the program to receive the stable OTA release. The update process does not require a device data wipe.
