Google Photos has introduced a new quick-edit button for videos, allowing users to modify clips directly within the sharing menu. This feature was identified in application version 7.95.0.989626323.
The button is located in the bottom right corner of the video preview screen. Selecting it opens the standard video editor, where users can trim footage or apply other available tools.
Once the user saves the changes, the application replaces the original video with the edited version before sending. Unlike photo editing, which may require additional steps to save, modified videos are stored directly in the device memory or cloud storage.
The video editing button is a permanent feature that cannot be disabled in the settings, unlike the automatic quick-edit prompt for photos. It remains accessible even for clips that have already undergone previous edits.
