Google is rolling out a redesigned Play Store for vehicles equipped with Google built-in services. The update, scheduled for release over the coming weeks, introduces a dynamic interface that automatically adjusts to various screen sizes and orientations, including both landscape and portrait layouts.

The new store interface simplifies navigation with four primary categories: Apps, Games, Search, and More. Featured applications are now displayed directly on the home screen, allowing users to download software without navigating through complex menus. The layout shifts based on the vehicle's hardware, placing menus on the side for landscape screens or at the top for portrait displays.

Google is expanding the vehicle app ecosystem by adding titles such as the Starz streaming service, Firefox browser, Ludo King, and JioHotstar. These applications are designed primarily for use while the vehicle is parked, such as during charging sessions or waiting periods, to provide entertainment and web access directly through the infotainment system.

The company is also integrating the Gemini AI assistant into select vehicles from manufacturers including Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, and Volvo. This move aims to replace the traditional Google Assistant with a more conversational interface capable of handling complex user requests, further evolving the car into a connected computing platform.
