Go Eve, a spin-out from University College Dublin and Imperial College London, raised £750 000. The funding comes from Innovate UK and private investors to support an 18-month development project.
The company focuses on its DockChain technology, which allows a single DC fast charger to serve multiple parking bays sequentially. This approach aims to reduce infrastructure requirements and installation costs for fleet operators.
The new project will develop custom hardware, firmware, and software to improve the reliability of sequential charging. Engineers plan to address issues where vehicles fail to start or restart charging sessions automatically.
The team in Wolverhampton will also explore bidirectional charging and vehicle-to-grid services. Go Eve plans to deliver a production-ready version of the technology in 2027, with existing units eligible for upgrades.
