TrendForce reports that Samsung led the market in the second quarter of 2026, producing 62 million smartphones, a 7% year-on-year increase. The company focused on delaying flagship releases and increasing ODM production for mid-to-low-end models to manage memory costs and maintain price competitiveness.
Apple followed in second place with approximately 52 million units produced, marking a 14% increase compared to the previous year. Analysts attribute this growth to the pricing strategy of the iPhone 17 series, though the impact of expected price hikes for the upcoming iPhone 18 series remains to be seen.
Other major players included OPPO, Xiaomi, and vivo, which produced approximately 30 million, 29 million, and 21 million units respectively. These three manufacturers focused on maintaining their basic market shares and prioritizing stable profitability.
