General Dynamics Land Systems and Primordial Labs have entered a partnership to integrate the Anura natural language control platform into US Army ground combat vehicles. The agreement, announced on October 7, 2026, focuses on enabling crew members to operate sensors, communication channels, and unmanned systems via voice commands.

The technology is intended for integration into platforms including the M1 Abrams main battle tank, the Stryker armored vehicle, and the future XM30 combat vehicle. By replacing complex manual menus with voice-based intent, the system aims to reduce the cognitive and physical workload of crews operating in high-noise, high-vibration environments.

Anura operates locally on vehicle hardware without requiring cloud-based AI, ensuring functionality during communication disruptions. The system is designed to map voice commands to specific tasks rather than acting as a generative chatbot, and it is explicitly excluded from controlling weapon fire systems to maintain safety standards.

The integration aligns with US Army goals to reduce crew sizes, such as the two-person configuration planned for the XM30 vehicle. While the partnership aims to expand the software's application, the technology is currently in the development and testing phase and has not yet been deployed on active prototypes.
