Geely has introduced a new AI-powered fast charging system designed to mitigate battery degradation caused by high-speed charging. The technology uses micro-pulse currents to reactivate lithium ions that accumulate on the anode, a process the company claims can extend battery cycle life by up to 20%.

The system is managed by Xingrui PowerMind, an AI model developed with StepFun. It monitors battery temperature in real-time, forecasting thermal changes up to 30 seconds in advance to adjust charging power. The target is to maintain an average charging temperature of 55°C, with peaks staying below 65°C.

Geely also unveiled a 2.25 MW peak capacity charging station featuring a five-point liquid cooling system. In tests with Lynk & Co 10 and Zeekr 001 models, the setup charged batteries from 10% to 70% in 4 minutes 30 seconds, and to 97% in 8 minutes 40 seconds.

The company showcased two battery types: the Shendun Golden Battery, which supports a 12C peak charging rate, and the Next-Gen Ultra Short Blade Battery for affordable models. The latter uses laser welding to reduce heat generation by 10% during charging and supports a 6C peak rate.
