Gallium Defense has secured €7.1 million in a seed funding round led by Keen Venture Partners and 360 Capital. Omnes Capital and Polytechnique Ventures also participated in the investment. The capital is earmarked for radar production, team expansion, AI model training, and customer demonstrations.
Founded in April 2026 by Eric Fournier, Florian Lemoine, and Robin Mandel, the company is developing the GDS-10, an X-band AESA radar. The system uses commercial off-the-shelf components and embedded computing to reduce costs. It is designed to detect Class 1 and FPV drones at ranges up to 10km.
The radar provides 360-degree azimuth and 90-degree elevation coverage, operating in all weather conditions and under electronic jamming. It is currently in the pre-revenue stage with six potential customers in the pipeline. The company aims to secure orders worth approximately €6 million by 2027.
The startup currently employs 15 people and plans to grow its team to 17 by the end of the year, with a target of 30 to 50 employees by 2027. The company intends to begin shipping its first units by June 2027 to meet its operational goals.
