Founded in May 2023, the Chinese robotics firm Galbot focuses on integrating hardware, intelligent models, and data systems for industrial use. The company has secured significant capital, raising over ¥2,4 billion by 2025, followed by a ¥2,5 billion round in 2026. Its valuation has reportedly surpassed ¥22 billion.
The 2026 funding round included participation from the National Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund, Sinopec, and CITIC Investment Holdings. These investments support the development of embodied AI solutions designed to move beyond the fixed, repetitive tasks traditionally performed by stationary robotic arms in manufacturing.
Galbot has introduced the G1, a mobile dual-arm robot capable of picking and organizing objects, and the S1, which is optimized for industrial palletizing and machine loading. These models utilize the AstraBrain system, which integrates visual perception, task planning, and motion control to adapt to changing environments.
The company aims to address labor-intensive manufacturing processes by deploying robots that can work alongside human employees. While industrial settings offer structured environments for data accumulation, the firm notes that challenges regarding cost, reliability, and large-scale deployment persist for the sector.
