Fujitsu announced the upcoming release of its FUJITSU-MONAKA processor, scheduled for November 2026. The company plans to begin supplying server units equipped with these CPUs to clients in the telecommunications and financial sectors starting in the fourth quarter of this year.
The processor is based on the Arm architecture and features a hybrid manufacturing process. The computing cores utilize 2nm technology, while the I/O and cache components are built on a 5nm process, incorporating a 3D stacking structure. The chip reaches a maximum frequency of 3.8GHz and supports memory transfer rates of 8800MT/s.
Designed for AI inference tasks, the CPU includes hardware-level acceleration for vector and matrix operations. Fujitsu states that the processor is suitable for environments with limited power or cooling capacity. Additionally, the chip features built-in hardware encryption to ensure data security.
The entire development and design cycle for the MONAKA processor took place in Japan, with production handled at the Kasashima facility. This allows the company to meet domestic requirements for localized supply chains. Servers will be available in 1U and 2U configurations, with 1U models supporting air-cooled operation.
