Fujitsu has scheduled the commercial launch of its Monaka processor for November 2026. The company intends to supply the first servers equipped with these chips to financial and telecommunications firms during the fourth quarter of 2026. Shipments to Japan and Europe are slated to commence in April 2027.
The Monaka processor is built on the Arm architecture and utilizes a 2-nanometer process for its computing cores. The cache and I/O components are manufactured using a 5-nanometer process with a 3D structure. The chip reaches a maximum clock speed of 3.8 GHz and supports a memory bandwidth of 8800 MT/s.
Designed for AI workloads, the processor includes hardware-based vector and matrix operations alongside software optimizations. Fujitsu claims the chip maintains performance levels while reducing energy and cooling requirements. It also features integrated hardware data encryption.
The entire development and production cycle for Monaka takes place in Japan to ensure supply chain localization. Server configurations will include 2U units with two processors and 1U units with one or two chips. The 1U version supports standard air cooling without specialized systems.
