Fujifilm has introduced the Instax Mini Evo 2, a hybrid instant camera that combines digital photography with built-in printing. The device features a larger 1/2.77-inch sensor, replacing the 1/5-inch sensor found in the previous model. It also includes a 4.5-inch rear LCD touchscreen, which replaces the physical controls on the back of the camera.
The camera introduces basic video recording capabilities, allowing users to capture short clips leading up to a photo. These MP4 files are saved to a microSD card at a resolution of 560 x 992 pixels and 24FPS without audio. The device retains physical elements like two dials and a print lever, alongside 10 film and 10 lens effect options.
The Instax Mini Evo 2 supports USB-C charging and prints 2 x 3-inch Instax Mini format photos. Users can adjust exposure, white balance, and flash settings. A new Expanded View mode provides a wider field of view than the standard shooting area. The camera will be available in black starting at the end of November for $290.
