Firmus Technologies, an Australian firm with roots in Bitcoin mining, has secured a $10 billion debt facility arranged by Blackstone and Coatue. The capital is primarily allocated for the acquisition of Nvidia AI accelerators to support the company's infrastructure expansion.
The central project is a new data center campus in Batam, Indonesia, which was announced on June 29, 2026. The facility is expected to go live in Q1 2027 and will add 360 MW of capacity, contributing to the company's goal of reaching 1.6 GW of total capacity by 2028.
Firmus plans to deploy up to 170,000 Nvidia GPUs at the Indonesian site, with hardware deliveries scheduled throughout 2027 and 2028. The project operates under an eight-year partnership with Nvidia that includes a revenue-sharing model on both hardware sales and cloud services.
The company aims to provide cloud capacity to AI-focused clients. Projections indicate that the Indonesian campus could generate between $25 billion and $30 billion in committed revenue over the first six years of operation.
