Firecrawl Inc. has secured $75 million in a Series B funding round. The investment was led by Smash Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, Altos Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, Freestyle, and Offline Ventures.

The startup provides tools for web scraping specifically designed for AI agents. Its platform features an agent-optimized search engine, a smart wait function for dynamic page loading, and automated interaction capabilities for scrolling or form submission.

Firecrawl also extracts data from PDFs and Word documents and monitors websites for updates. The company recently launched a cloud service called Alexandria, which integrates web data with curated datasets, including scientific paper abstracts and code documentation.

The new capital will be used to expand the Alexandria service by incorporating information from additional third-party data providers. Firecrawl also plans to introduce a self-service content licensing system to streamline data acquisition.
