Figma has introduced new tools to help AI agents follow brand design rules more effectively. The company debuted Figma Specs, a Markdown-based editor that allows users to define design languages, embed code layers, and reference FigJam diagrams directly within the canvas or as standalone files.
The platform is expanding its support for design systems by allowing teams to integrate design and code libraries. These centralized resources provide context for AI agents to ensure that generated designs remain consistent with established brand guidelines.
Figma has moved its code layers feature into public beta, following a private beta launch in June. This tool enables users to create interactive prototypes and allows AI agents to convert designs into code or modify existing code segments to iterate on projects.
The company is integrating its Figma Make product with Payload, a headless CMS acquired last year. Payload has seen a sixfold increase in downloads over the past 12 months. Additionally, Figma is supporting over 20 new tools through its Model Context Protocol, including Grok Bot and Sarvam.
India currently stands as Figma's largest market outside the United States. The platform is utilized by 40% of the top 100 companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, supported by local teams focused on sales, partnerships, and product development.
