Dell XPS 13 laptops with 8GB of RAM were used for the benchmark. The test covered common scenarios including boot-up, rebooting, and file decompression, as well as the use of development tools, office software, and image processing.

The results showed that Fedora Linux outperformed Windows 11 in most basic and common tasks. While initial boot times were similar for both operating systems, Windows 11 took longer to reboot.

Windows 11 demonstrated higher memory usage during idle states compared to Fedora, which maintained lower resource consumption. In terms of file decompression, Windows 11's native file explorer performed poorly, especially when compared to 7-Zip.

Fedora Linux also showed better performance in Visual Studio Code tests. However, Windows 11 maintained an advantage in gaming performance, though Fedora led in the majority of the overall test projects.
