The Sora video generation service officially ceased operations on April 26, 2026, following a final announcement on X on March 25, 2026. API access remained available until September 24, 2026.
A comparative test of three alternative models—Grok Imagine Video, Kling, and Runway—was conducted using the Bothub platform to evaluate video generation capabilities based on a specific prompt.
Grok Imagine Video produced a video at a cost of 9.43 RUB per second, totaling 57.2 RUB. The output was noted for its affordability, though it exhibited issues with eye detail and audio synchronization.
Kling delivered the most detailed results with high-quality motion physics and integrated audio. It was the most expensive option at 14.85 RUB per second, with a total cost of 88.92 RUB for the generated clip.
Runway required an initial image upload and cost 14.14 RUB per second, totaling 84.69 RUB. The test revealed inconsistencies between the starting frame and the subsequent video, alongside lower-quality motion physics compared to the other models.
