The Ethereum network has scheduled the activation of the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet for October 26. This update will raise the testnet gas limit to 200 million, following a similar implementation previously conducted on the Sepolia testnet.
The Glamsterdam protocol introduces technical modifications to gas pricing for state-access and state-creation operations. Furthermore, the upgrade includes broader changes to block-accounting and execution processes within the network.
While the testnet deployment date is confirmed, the Ethereum Foundation has not yet announced a timeline for the mainnet activation. Market participants are currently monitoring the Hoodi testnet for potential technical bugs or performance issues.
