Equinix introduced two new services at its Horizon event: Fabric One and Inference Exchange. Fabric One is an intent-driven managed service designed to automate connectivity across distributed enterprise, cloud, and AI environments. It aims to replace manual network provisioning by allowing users to specify business outcomes, with the platform orchestrating routing, encryption, and failover.

The service will utilize open connectivity specifications developed with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud. A beta version is expected later this year, with general availability in North America planned for 2027. Equinix intends for this platform to act as an adaptive control plane for AI infrastructure, supporting requests via APIs, automation, or natural-language prompts.

Equinix Inference Exchange focuses on providing production inference capacity near data sources and users. The offering integrates Nvidia Enterprise Reference Architectures, the Together AI platform—which supports over 200 open-source models—and Equinix’s global data-center footprint. It will offer both multitenant and dedicated single-tenant environments, with a launch scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

The company currently operates more than 280 data centers across 77 metropolitan areas. Its platform provides 230 cloud on-ramps and connects over 10,500 businesses. Equinix reports that eight of the top 10 AI model providers and nine of the top 10 AI clouds maintain active deployments within its ecosystem.
