Elio Mortgage, an AI-native mortgage brokerage, has secured $5.1 million in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by Motive Partners and Social Leverage, with participation from Jeff Horing of Insight Partners and other angel investors.
The company operates as a licensed mortgage firm, integrating its AI platform directly into its internal operations. This technology automates document collection, application filling, and compliance checks, allowing loan officers to focus on client advisory and relationship management.
Elio Mortgage currently employs approximately 40 loan officers across 22 states and reports $200 million in trailing 12-month origination volume. The company also offers Elio Embedded, a service that provides mortgage infrastructure to real estate agents, homebuilders, and financial advisors.
The startup aims to expand its licensing to 30 states by the end of the year, covering roughly 80% of the U.S. population. The firm's business model relies on origination fees earned upon the closing of each loan, with a focus on scaling volume without increasing operational support costs.
