The EcoTire concept introduces a modular design that separates the tire into a durable main structure and a replaceable tread. This approach aims to address the environmental impact of traditional tires, which are typically discarded entirely once the tread wears out, despite the internal structure remaining intact.

Under this model, vehicle owners replace only the outer tread layer when it reaches a specific wear level, rather than purchasing a complete new tire. The design utilizes a specialized locking mechanism to ensure the tread remains secure and stable during high-speed driving, cornering, and braking.

The developers emphasize a circular economy approach, noting that used tread components can be recycled and reprocessed into new materials. This system is intended to reduce the consumption of rubber, steel, and other manufacturing resources while minimizing waste generation.

Currently, EcoTire remains in the conceptual design phase. Before reaching the consumer market, the project must undergo rigorous road testing, regulatory certification, and validation of its large-scale manufacturing feasibility to ensure it meets safety and durability standards.
