Doral Renewables has completed the 1.3-gigawatt Mammoth solar power plant in Indiana. The final 900-megawatt phase was constructed in 18 months and began commercial operations on October 7, 2026.

The project occupies land leased from over 65 families in Starke and Pulaski counties. It utilizes 20 000 tons of locally produced steel for racking systems and hardware.

The site incorporates agrivoltaic practices, hosting 2 000 head of livestock, including sheep and alpacas, to manage vegetation. Doral is also testing robotics and crop trials in a dedicated zone.

Doral is developing the 1.3-gigawatt Vista Sands project in Wisconsin, which aims to conserve water and restore native habitats. An engineering report estimates the project's first-year ecosystem benefits at $630 million.

The company has joined the Midwest Agrivoltaics for Resilient Communities partnership led by Purdue University to research energy security and rural economic resilience.

Legal challenges are underway against the US Department of Agriculture regarding new rules that restrict access to the Rural Energy for America Program, which previously supported rural solar projects.
