Dallas-based investment firm Disruptive has announced a new $10 billion fund. This vehicle is designed to support at least 10 late-stage companies, with individual investments reaching up to $1 billion.

The fund focuses on capital-intensive sectors, specifically artificial intelligence and defense. According to reports, the firm had already secured $7.5 billion in capital commitments earlier this month.

Founded in 2012 by Alex Davis, the firm previously operated using deal-by-deal special purpose vehicles. This new initiative marks the company's first blind-pool fund, where investors commit capital without pre-selected targets.

Disruptive has a history of backing companies such as Palantir, Airbnb, Spotify, Groq, and ElevenLabs. Data indicates the firm has returned more than $6 billion on approximately $1.9 billion in prior investments.

The Dallas Business Journal reports that this $10 billion fund is the largest venture capital vehicle ever raised in the history of Texas.
