The CNews business portal has released its latest research on the Russian electronic document management system (EDMS) market. Directum secured the second position in the ranking, which included over 35 domestic software developers.
Experts observe a slowdown in the market following a period of active growth between 2022 and 2025. While the sector previously saw growth rates of 15–20%, forecasts for 2026–2027 indicate a more modest expansion of 7–10%.
Vendors are shifting from traditional EDMS formats toward comprehensive platforms that integrate document management, corporate content, and business processes. A key development trend is the incorporation of artificial intelligence to handle routine tasks.
AI assistants currently perform functions such as document version comparison, data extraction, and automated form filling. According to Directum product manager Ivan Agapov, the future lies in AI agents that can execute tasks autonomously across systems without requiring direct human interaction with the interface.
