Dell Technologies announced the expansion of its AI Data Platform with three new components: a Unified Semantic Layer, an Enterprise Knowledge Graph, and Knowledge Agents. These tools are scheduled for release in the first half of 2027.
The Unified Semantic Layer applies common definitions and rules to structured and unstructured data, while the Enterprise Knowledge Graph maps connections using metadata and query history. Knowledge Agents operate within these graphs, governed by specific access permissions and budget constraints.
The company also introduced a data processing engine powered by Nvidia RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs. Testing on the PowerEdge R770 server showed a 3.9x speedup in data preprocessing compared to CPU-only Apache Spark, with a 20.4x increase in batch analytical tasks.
Storage updates for PowerScale include support for up to 500 isolated tenants per cluster. Additionally, Dell is implementing mandatory mutual TLS encryption for all NFS traffic to enhance data security within the infrastructure.
