Dell Technologies and CoreWeave are collaborating on the development of modular rack-scale AI infrastructure. The partnership focuses on co-engineering, manufacturing diagnostics, and the integration of liquid cooling systems to ensure reliability across data center environments.
The companies begin design work months or years before production. This process includes defining firmware settings and mechanical requirements. Dell utilizes operational feedback from CoreWeave to refine diagnostics during server and rack assembly, aiming to identify hardware failures early in the manufacturing cycle.
A key component of the collaboration is the integration of CoreWeave’s Racky rack manager directly into Dell’s L11 factories. This allows for testing power, cooling, and environmental telemetry before the equipment is shipped. The teams have also developed enhanced leak detection mechanisms for liquid cooling systems.
As AI infrastructure scales to support systems like Nvidia’s Vera Rubin, the focus has shifted from individual racks to entire data halls. Both companies emphasize that achieving reliability requires tight systems integration across the full stack, including compute trays, switches, and network fabrics.
