Deep Blue Aerospace has completed the production of a 5-meter diameter stainless steel common-dome tank. This component is a core part of the Nebula-2 liquid reusable rocket, which is currently the largest capacity rocket in China's private aerospace sector.
The Nebula-2 rocket features a payload capacity of 18 tons to 500 km SSO and 25 tons to LEO. The rocket body utilizes stainless steel, which provides high-temperature resistance and structural stability. The design features a silver-gray metallic finish, abandoning traditional white paint.
The first stage of the rocket is powered by 11 Super Thunder engines, generating a total liftoff thrust of 12,446 kN. The second stage uses one vacuum-type Super Thunder engine. These engines are liquid oxygen-kerosene pintle engines designed for mass production.
The company plans to conduct a second-stage propulsion system test by the end of the year. The Nebula-2 is designed for more than 20 reuses and incorporates a 'chopstick' capture recovery technology to improve launch and recovery efficiency.
