Dealer John Clay Wolfe, owner of GiveMeTheVIN, recently acquired two classic Chevrolet Corvettes from a private collection located near Corpus Christi, Texas. The transaction was finalized for $175 000. These specific vehicles were selected from a larger group of six cars discovered at the site.

The sellers initially requested $390 000 for the entire collection of six vehicles. Wolfe had established a maximum budget of $320 000 for the lot, but negotiations failed to bridge the gap. Consequently, he opted to purchase only the two most valuable units, leaving four unfinished restoration projects behind.

The acquired vehicles include a 1965 convertible featuring a 396 cubic-inch V8 engine with 425 horsepower, one of only 2 157 examples produced with that configuration. The second car is a 1967 convertible equipped with a 435-horsepower 427 cubic-inch V8 engine and a three-carburetor setup.

The remaining four cars in the collection included a 1954 model with a Blue Flame six-cylinder engine, a 1962 model, a 1964 model with a carburetor conversion, and a modified 1967 model. The family had been accumulating these vehicles since the early 1980s, eventually amassing between 30 and 40 cars.
