Ali Ghodsi, CEO and co-founder of Databricks, argues that current AI models already exceed the needs of most enterprises. He suggests that the primary barrier to productivity is not a lack of AI intelligence, but a deficiency in enterprise context.
During 2026 speaking engagements, Ghodsi noted that while only 10% of polled audiences believe artificial general intelligence has arrived, 90% consider their daily AI tools smarter than most colleagues. He emphasizes that companies must focus on organizing proprietary data and workflows.
Databricks provides tools, such as the Genie platform, to help businesses capture institutional knowledge and decision-making logic. The company's client list includes major firms like AT&T, Rivian, Adidas, Mercedes-Benz, Unilever, Virgin, and Bayer.
Ghodsi estimates that full enterprise AI adoption could take up to a decade. He describes this transition as an organizational reengineering project rather than a simple software installation, requiring changes to internal processes, roles, and corporate culture.
